Scottish Highlands, 5-day tour
Our tour is based in the picturesque fishing village of Ullapool nestling on the shores of Lochbroom. Facing towards the southeast and benefitting from the warming effects of the Gulf Stream the village, with its appealing whitewashed cottages, is a joy to explore and an ideal location from which to visit the surrounding scenic countryside of the northwest Highlands. It is the largest village in Wester Ross and with good roads allowing easy access to the area it is the main ferry link between mainland Scotland and the town of Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides.
The town was chosen as a location in a film called 'Human Beings', directed by a Scot, Bill Forsyth, and starring Robin Williams, the American star of the television series 'Mork & Mindy' and the film 'Good Morning Viet-Nam' and numerous other films.
