North Wales and Anglesey, 5-day tour

North Wales and Anglesey, 5-day tour

Once again we offer this very popular tour to Wales, a land of myth and legend and a land of contrasts between the magic of seaside bays and beaches to the timeless and mysterious, wild, beauty of the mountains of Snowdonia.

Our holiday base is in the renowned seaside resort of Llandudno with its two beaches set beneath the towering limestone headland of the Great Orme. Take a stroll along the longest pier in Wales or just meander through the streets of this exciting, lively and beautiful town famous for its Victorian style and Edwardian elegance.

We have a full day excursion to St. Asaph, a modern day centre of commerce that has developed around the smallest ancient Cathedral in Britain and one of the oldest Celtic shrines in Britain. We continue on over the Horseshoe Pass, with some of the most spectacular views in Wales as it climbs around a wide valley to Llangollen a small town in a beautiful location on the banks of the River Dee. Leaving Llangollen we travel on to spend some time in Betws-y-Coed, the principal village of the Snowdonia National Park before returning to our hotel.

We also have a full day excursion to Anglesey to visit the village with the longest place name in Britain, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch before spending a short time in the well-known historic town of Beaumaris on the Menai Strait. We continue on to historic Caernarfon with its surviving narrow streets, shops, inns and medieval town walls. There will be free time to perhaps explore the town and the magnificent castle.
